Thank you for choosing Bagan Strinden Vision for your refractive surgery needs! We have state-of-the-art lasers in our Bismarck and Fargo Laser Centers to fit your individual treatment. With new technology, virtually everyone is a refractive surgery candidate, whether you're nearsighted, farsighted, presbyopic or have astigmatism.

Tom StrindenTom Strinden received his M.D. degree from University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks, ND, in 1988. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and has had an eye surgical practice in Fargo since 1995.

Dr. Strinden has performed over 15,000 major eye surgeries. He began performing LASIK in 1998 and implanting multifocal implants in 1999.

Dr. Strinden’s practice emphasis is refractive and cataract surgery but he also offers a range of services related to general ophthalmology. He is an associate clinical professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. He does a yearly medical mission trip to Honduras.

He and his wife, Michelle, have four children and reside in Fargo. He is active in his church and enjoys outdoor activities with his kids such as hunting and fishing. He also serves on the FCA hockey National Board.

Tom StrindenSteve Bagan received his M.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX in 1976. He then took his specialty training in Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and has had an eye surgical practice in Fargo since 1980.

Dr. Bagan has done over 10,000 major eye sugeries, and over 10,000 Lasik and PRK laser procedures. He is also a cornea transplant surgeon, giving him valuable experience in all aspects of cornea surgery.

He goes overseas to perform volunteer surgery, and has performed and taught eye surgery in the Philippines, Nigeria, India, Peru, Nicaragua, Ukraine, Romania and other countries.

Dr. Bagan has had refractive surgery himself. This unique perspective and his careful personal approach will provide you with an excellent refractive surgery experience.

Sarah SwanholmSarah Swanholm, originally from Fargo, ND, received her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Dakota. She went on to obtain her doctorate degree, graduating with honors, from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. While at Pacific University, she spent time as a teaching assistant, volunteered on a mission trip to El Salvador, and served as the Class of 2012 president.

She then completed a hospital-based/rehabilitative optometric residency at the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center, specializing in ocular disease and low vision.

Her professional areas of interest include primary eye care, ocular disease prevention and treatment, specialty contact lenses, and surgical co-management. She is a current member of the American Optometric Association and the North Dakota Optometric Association. She has served as a member of the Heartland Healthcare Network Ancillary Board as well as been a member of the United Way’s 35 Under 35 Women’s Leadership program.

She and her husband, Chaz, live in Fargo with their daughter. She enjoys running, golfing, and traveling, in her free time.

Our staff is well trained to understand your eye condition, and with twenty-five years in practice we have a wealth of experience. We have 3 certified ophthalmic technicians on staff and provide ongoing continuing education for staff to insure the best possible experience for you at Bagan Strinden Vision.
